Power Amp
Our Price: $699.00

We are very excited about the new amp and have had one on the West Coast for the past few weeks that is garnering very positive reviews from Session Players and Touring guitarists as well.  What sets the Retro Channel Power Amp apart from other power amps on the market?

 Our Analog Modeling technology:

Our proprietary modeling technology allows us to provide the end user with a Power amp that sounds and more importantly FEELS like a tube amp.  We have received feedback from customers over the past 2 weeks that the Retro Channel power amp brought the patches on their Fractal AxeFx alive.  By varying the volume control on each channel (there is both a volume and a master volume on each channel) the end user can vary the amount of tube power amp saturation and vary the Feel of the amp to taste.  Our power amp is also a great choice for those of you who are using tube preamps, Bogner, CAE, etc.  Retain the real tube signal path tone and feel while enjoying a stereo experience that provides you with 100 watts per channel at 22 pounds  When we say 100 watts, we mean 100 tube watts.  Our Power amp is as loud as a pair of 1968 Plexi Marshall amps in stereo.

At Retro Channel we are committed to guitar tone.  Our power amp was designed with a guitar rig in mind.  This is not a PA amp with quarter inch inputs.  This is a Tube modeling circuit.

The control layout is as follows:

 Volume:

This control acts as your input sensitivity control.  The Volume knob controls the amount of tube power amp saturation that you would like to have.  At lower settings the amp is transparent (much like a standard power amp) as you increase the volume you will experience more power amp push, sustain, and more dynamics.  This control gave one LA touring pro “Happy Feet” when using the Power Amp with a Marshall style patch on the AxeFX2.

Resonance:

The resonance control is subtle.  At higher volume levels the Resonance control helps fine tune the amp to your cabinet choice.  Experiment as there is no “right” setting.

Presence:

Add high end and accentuate harmonics by manipulating this control.  Again, there is no right setting… use your ears.

Master:

Each channel also comes with a separate master control.  When using the AXEFX in stereo you might want to match your left and right  Master settings.

The power amp is also very useful for those wanting a wet/dry/wet rig.  If you are using a favorite amp and want to have a wonderful Tube tone power amp at a fraction of the weight for your wet rig, try the Retro Channel.  Again, at 22 pounds, 100 watts of REAL TUBE type power, and no fan noise… it’s a great choice for high volume rigs, or studio setups…. and besides, we have a groovy looking backlit logo, right?
